In honor of National Geographic's All Roads Film Festival, going on now through October 3rd, I decided to feature some of my favorite movies about the environment. If you're in the Washington, D.C. area this weekend, check out the All Roads Film Festival. The website has a listing of all the movies playing this weekend. If you aren't in the area, rent one of these movies, pop some popcorn, and learn a little bit about the environment from the comfort of your own home.

An unflattering look inside America's corporate controlled food industry.
Why you should see it: It gives you a crucial insight into the production of one of life's most vital resources: food.
4. Avatar
A paraplegic marine dispatched to the moon Pandora on a unique mission becomes torn between following his orders and protecting the world he feels is his home.
Why you should see it: The artistic and imaginative world that is Pandora illuminates the beauty of our own, real world.
5. The Cove
Using state-of-the-art equipment, a group of activists, led by renowned dolphin trainer Ric O'Barry, infiltrate a cove near Taijii, Japan to expose both a shocking instance of animal abuse and a serious threat to human health.
Why you should see it: O'Barry makes a compelling argument against keeping Dolphins captive and exposes an ugly operation that is harmful to dolphin populations of the Pacific.

i love fern gully - i heard that in thailand there's a lake that will actually glow when you step in it - do you remember that part?
Perhaps it sounds obvious, but for many of us, it's been a long time since we've gotten up-close-and-personal with the ink-on-paper--or text-on-screen--language of the Constitution.
